The manual seeks to address the ethical concerns in the field of HIV/AIDS research in the country, attempting to strike a balance between the interest of the individual with that of the society in the furtherance of HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts.





Clinical Management of HIV Infection in the Philippines

The manual had been developed for use in the training of HIV/AIDS Core Teams. It attempts to standardize the diagnosis and management of HIV/AIDS cases, taking into account the different capacities of hospital in the country. The clinical management of adult and pediatric patients, including pregnant women are thoroughly covered. Moreover, guidelines on post-exposure prophylaxis are also included.

 

12 Steps to Understanding AIDS for Media Practitioners

The manual is intended for print and broadcast media journalist. It provides basic information on HIV/AIDS, data on the situation in the Philippines, and has a chapter with suggestions on improving the quality of AIDS coverage. The law on the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, namely RA 8504, is found in the last chapter.
