AIDS Media Awards (1999-2003) A Summary Report
This book is an updated edition of the three year report that gives a picture of the first five years of the AIDS Media Awards, a continuing national program being implemented by the AIDS Society of the Philippines, Inc. (ASP). As a summary of all its activities from 1999 to 2003, which ran under the funding support of The Ford Foundation - Philippines and other partners, this narrative report gives an idea of how and why it is being sustained.
AIDS Media Awards: A Three-Year Report (1999-2001)
A summary of the many activities conducted in partnership with media practitioners throughout the Philippines. Initially conceptualized to make media aware of the broad issues seen in AIDS and in preparation for the 4th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific in 1997. The program ran under the funding support of The Ford Foundation - Philippines.
Media & Sexuality: Between Sentionalism and Censorship
The report illustrates this by examining how in different Asian societies the media, particularly print media, view sexuality, safer sex and HIV/AIDS. In doing so, it also discusses the way various governments respond to epidemic; the problematic relationship between authorities and media in protecting moral values; and the changing societal attitudes towards sexuality, which is leading to new expectations towards media reporting.
